The doors of the most famous and romantic restaurant on the small screen reopened for another week. On Monday night, a new batch of singles showed up to First Dates with the goal of meeting someone interesting with whom they could start a beautiful love story.
It is normal for the two people to meet each other upon arrival at the place. But sometimes there are extraordinary situations in which one of the parties has a crush through television. This was the case of Belén, a 59-year-old Catalan single who had appeared on the program to meet Ricard, a 57-year-old Catalan single who didn’t have much luck with her previous date.
”When he came in I already liked him. While I was watching him I started to like him a lot and my heart started to beat, I had a crush on him,” the single woman said. Suddenly, Carlos Sobera revealed that the bachelor had no idea about the date and proposed to Belén to leave a note for the bachelor. ”When I saw you on First Dates I wanted to meet you,” the note said.
Moments later, Ricard crossed the doors of the restaurant without having any idea that his date already knew him. ”It’s not a random date you’re going on. Do you dare?” Sobera asked him. ”Sure, of course. “It was like a request,” he responded. After his presentations, the most anticipated moment occurred: their first meeting.
However, the couple’s first eye contact was not as perfect as Belén expected, and she confessed to having been a little disappointed. ”She seemed a little different to me, the other time she wore more serious clothes and today she is more sporty,” she confessed. Even so, the single woman was looking forward to meeting Ricard and so she let him know: “She was reluctant to meet someone, but suddenly I had a television crush.” ”It flatters me and that’s why I hesitated a little at the beginning,” said Ricard.
Despite their initial disappointment, the conversation between the bachelors was flowing like a charm to the joy of the single woman, who assured that the bachelor was meeting her expectations. ”He talks more than I expected, we had a very fluid dinner in every way, conversation and laughter,” she commented.
One of their points in common was that they were both very fighters, who became stronger against adversity. And they were both retired due to different health problems. ”We are capable of starting from scratch and moving forward,” she stressed.
In the final stretch of the evening, the singles went to the program’s photo booth, where they gave free rein to their passion. Therefore, in the final decision, the Catalans confessed their desire to continue getting to know each other. ”My instinct told me that I was going to like it, just as I saw it on TV and I had palpitations that I liked it,” Belén declared. ”I have returned to believing in crushes,” said the bachelor.
