South Carolina Couple Uses Chick-fil-A Points to Spread Kindness
In Greenwood, South Carolina, Jay and Judy Brissey have found a unique way to give back to their community using Chick-fil-A reward points. While most people use these points to score free meals, the Brisseys have accumulated over 202,000 points over the past eight years, which they decided to use in a heartwarming act of generosity this Thanksgiving.
The Power of Giving Back
The couple, who frequents Chick-fil-A daily, decided to use half of their reward points to provide lunch for residents of the Burton Center, a facility that caters to individuals with disabilities and special needs. For many of these individuals, the Brisseys have become like family, offering them a sense of connection and care that goes beyond a simple meal.
Meyata Gould, the day program assistant director for the Burton Center, expressed how meaningful the Brisseys’ gesture was, highlighting the importance of community support for these vulnerable individuals. Judy, who has a background in education, was particularly moved by the experience, reconnecting with former students and reminiscing about the positive impact she had on their lives.
Spreading Joy and Kindness
Jay shared his perspective on the significance of their actions, recognizing that for many of the Burton Center residents, a trip to Chick-fil-A is merely a distant dream. By bringing the food to them, the Brisseys not only provided a delicious meal but also a sense of inclusion and thoughtfulness that resonated deeply with the recipients.
With 101,000 points still remaining, the Brisseys plan to continue their acts of kindness by visiting the Connie Maxwell Children’s Home next week on December 5th. Despite their altruistic efforts, Judy humbly stated that she does not seek recognition for their actions, emphasizing that their ultimate goal is to bring glory to God through their acts of kindness.
A Lesson in Generosity
The Brisseys’ story serves as a powerful reminder of the impact that small gestures of kindness can have on others. In a world where selflessness is often overshadowed by personal gain, their actions stand out as a beacon of hope and compassion. As they continue to accumulate Chick-fil-A points, the Brisseys are not only earning free meals but also spreading joy and love to those who need it most.
In a society where material wealth and status often take precedence, the Brisseys’ story is a refreshing reminder of the true value of generosity and compassion. Through their simple yet impactful actions, they have shown that kindness knows no bounds and that a small act of giving can make a world of difference in someone’s life.
