A tragic incident occurred in Hallandale Beach, Florida, where a woman lost her life at the hands of the father of her children. According to the Hallandale Beach Police, they received a tip about a concerning situation at a daycare center where two children were not picked up by their parents. The children, aged 8 and 9, were eventually picked up by another family member who raised the alarm after noticing the family’s vehicle parked outside the children’s home.
Upon entering the home, authorities found the lifeless body of the woman, identified as Delfina Perez, in the bathroom. She had sustained severe injuries and was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. Shockingly, she was also reported to be 20 weeks pregnant at the time of her death. Meanwhile, the father, Victor Chavez Sr., was found in another room in a state of lethargy and unresponsiveness. He was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
After recuperating in the hospital, Chavez Sr. admitted to the police that he had committed the heinous act of murdering the woman and had even attempted to take his own life. As a result, he was taken into custody and is now facing charges of two counts of murder. During his court appearance, he was denied bond by the judge. Fortunately, the children are safe and are in the care of their loved ones.
In the midst of this tragedy, the family is grappling with the loss of Perez and is seeking to lay her to rest in her home country of Guatemala. To support the children left behind, the family has set up a GoFundMe page for those who wish to contribute. This devastating incident has left the community in shock and mourning the loss of a young mother and her unborn child.
As we reflect on this heartbreaking news, it serves as a stark reminder of the importance of addressing domestic disputes and seeking help in times of crisis. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones affected by this senseless act of violence. Let us come together to support the children who are now left without their mother and ensure that they have the care and resources they need during this difficult time.
