This weekend, voters from both political parties in Miami-Dade County showed their support just over two weeks before Election Day. Participants in a Harris-Walz caravan were seen waving flags in Miami Beach and then headed north to Miami Gardens, ending at Hard Rock Stadium during Taylor Swift’s concert. At the same time, supporters of former President Donald Trump gathered in West Miami-Dade, all with the same message: make use of early voting.

Organizers like Millie Raphael from the Florida Grassroots Coalition emphasized the importance of every vote and encouraging people to volunteer. A participant from the Trump caravan reminded voters that if they don’t vote, they shouldn’t complain later on. As the campaigns of Harris and Trump intensify in the final days before the election, both candidates were busy on the ground.

Harris visited churches in suburban Atlanta while Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz spoke at a church in Saginaw, Michigan. Trump, on the other hand, spent his Sunday morning at a McDonald’s fry station in suburban Philadelphia, serving customers in the drive-thru after being pre-screened by the Secret Service. With Election Day approaching on Tuesday, November 5, early in-person voting is set to begin on Monday in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties. Voters who have requested a mail-in ballot can also drop them off at secure locations at early voting sites.

As the campaigns ramp up and the election draws near, it is crucial for every eligible voter to participate in the democratic process. Both sides are making their voices heard through these caravans and events, urging people to exercise their right to vote and have a say in the future of the country. By getting involved, whether through voting or volunteering, individuals can make a difference and have a stake in the outcome of the election. So, as the candidates make their final push, it’s up to the voters to make their voices heard and shape the direction of the nation.
