The incident took place at around 10:30 p.m. on May 8, 2022, on Northwest 15th Court in unincorporated Central Broward near Fort Lauderdale. Authorities suspect that Griffin and a man with her were specifically targeted while they were sitting in her parked car. The shooter is believed to have been in a dark SUV at the time of the attack.
