Bill Gates’ relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted pedophile, has been revealed in a new book by author Anupreeta Das. According to the book, Gates was interested in connecting with Epstein because he believed Epstein could help him secure a Nobel Peace Prize. Epstein, who pleaded guilty to procuring underaged girls in 2008, reached out to Gates in 2010 to improve his own tarnished image at the time.

Epstein claimed he could help Gates connect with influencers who could help him secure the Nobel Peace Prize. In 2013, Gates, Epstein, and Norwegian diplomat Terje Rod-Larsen traveled to France to meet with Thorbjorn Jagland, the chair of the Nobel committee. However, the meeting did not lead to Gates winning the prize, and Rod-Larsen later resigned from the International Peace Institute in 2020 due to his connection to Epstein.

In a 2021 interview with CNN, Gates admitted that his association with Epstein was a “huge mistake.” A spokesperson for Gates denied certain claims in the book, stating that the allegations were sensationalized and untrue, emphasizing that Gates’ relationship with Epstein was focused on philanthropy rather than anything inappropriate.

Melinda Gates, Bill Gates’ ex-wife, expressed her concerns about his interactions with Epstein, referring to Epstein as “evil personified.” The unauthorized biography also mentioned Gates’ behavior towards female employees at Microsoft, stating that he would flirt with them and make unwanted advances. Despite this, an executive clarified that Gates was not on the same level as individuals like Harvey Weinstein.

While Gates faced workplace temptations, managers took precautions to ensure that female employees did not spend time alone with him. Epstein’s death in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges marked the end of a tumultuous chapter in his life. Rebecca Rosenberg, a journalist and book author specializing in crime and criminal justice, provided insights into the complex relationship between Gates and Epstein in her reporting.
