American authorities recently managed to track down a fugitive named Antonio “El Diablo” Riano in Oaxaca, Mexico, where he was working as a police officer. Riano had been on the run for 20 years after allegedly shooting a man outside a bar in Ohio. Witnesses reported that Riano and the victim, Benjamin Becarra, had an argument inside the bar which escalated outside, leading to the fatal shooting.

Riano was arrested in Mexico and handed over to U.S. Marshals in Mexico City. Shockingly, he was found to be working as a local police officer in Oaxaca. When asked why he became a police officer, Riano stated that he wanted to help the people of Mexico. Despite being accused of murder, he denied the allegations when questioned by a reporter.

The authorities were able to gather enough evidence against Riano, including security footage of him buying bullets before the shooting and the murder weapon found in his Ohio home. Mark Henson, a detective on the case, mentioned that they had all the necessary evidence and were just waiting to locate him.

Riano was listed on the Butler County Sheriff’s Office “Most Wanted” list and was even featured on “America’s Most Wanted.” The investigation into his whereabouts began in January, leading them to his Facebook page where they discovered his new identity as a police officer in Oaxaca.

Despite leaving his family behind in Ohio, Riano was living a new life in Mexico before his arrest. The victim’s family has been informed of Riano’s arrest and pending extradition. This case serves as a reminder that justice can prevail even after many years, as authorities work tirelessly to bring fugitives to account for their actions.
