A man in Texas was arrested by the police for attacking another man with a machete during a traffic argument. The suspect, Michael Martin Ochwat, who is 66 years old, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, as reported by the New Braunfels Police Department on their Facebook page.
The incident took place on Monday at noon near the intersection of North Market Avenue and East San Antonio Street in New Braunfels. When the officers arrived at the scene, they found a 55-year-old man who had been injured with a slash wound on his upper body. Paramedics provided immediate medical attention to the victim before taking him to the hospital. Fortunately, the victim is now in stable condition and has been discharged from the hospital.
According to the initial investigation, the victim and another driver were involved in a dispute while in their vehicles. Both of them got out of their vehicles when the suspect, Ochwat, confronted the victim with a machete-type knife. Ochwat was identified as the suspect and was later arrested on Wednesday without any issues.
After being served with an arrest warrant, Ochwat was taken into custody and booked into the Comal County Jail. He was released on a $50,000 bond following his arrest. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident to gather more information and evidence.
