In one particular exchange, Mr. Sorett responded with “LMAO” to a sarcastic message from Ms. Chang-Kim about Brian Cohen, the executive director of Columbia/Barnard Hillel. Mr. Sorett is said to be cooperating with the investigation into the text exchanges, and will be recused from matters related to the investigation while still serving as dean.
