Lucasfilm has made it official that a brand new season of Young Jedi Adventures is on its way to Disney Plus and Disney Jr. Variety was the first to report this exciting news. In addition to the announcement, we have been given a sneak peek at some new images from the upcoming season. Nubs has also received new cartoon shorts on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel.
The upcoming season will continue to follow the adventures of Jedi padawans Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs as they undergo training and tackle bigger missions across the galaxy. They will be under the guidance of Master Zia’s new padawan, Wes Vinik, and his astromech droid R0-M1. Returning characters include pilot Nash Durango and old adversary Taborr/Cryus Vuundir. Yoda will also make appearances throughout the season. The second half of the season is expected to premiere in early 2025.
The young Jedi will explore new planets and confront new foes, such as a group of pirates called “The Ganguls”. It seems that the Nihil will not be making an appearance this season, with the Ganguls taking their place to maintain a light and fun atmosphere for young viewers at home.
Additionally, a new cartoon short on the Star Wars Kids YouTube channel shows Nubs losing his lightsaber. Fans can also enjoy other Fun With Nubs shorts available on the channel. Meanwhile, The Acolyte, another High Republic-era show, is approaching the midpoint of its run on Disney Plus. However, this show may not be as suitable for children.
Fans of Young Jedi Adventures will have to wait eagerly for two more months to catch new stories featuring Nubs and his friends when the new season premieres on Wednesday, August 14th.
