Disguise, the global costume division of toy and consumer products manufacturer JAKKS Pacific, has recently secured a multi-year licensing agreement with Aniplex of America for “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” in various regions including North America, Australia, New Zealand, LATAM, Ireland, and the U.K. This partnership allows Disguise to create costume accessories inspired by the popular anime series, with new designs expected to be available in stores and online in 2025.
For those unfamiliar with the series, “Demon Slayer” is based on a manga created by Koyoharu Gotoge, published under SHUEISHA’s JUMP COMICS. The storyline follows Tanjiro Kamado, a young boy who joins the Demon Slayer Corps after his family is killed by a demon, and his younger sister, Nezuko, is turned into one. The series documents Tanjiro’s quest to find a cure for his sister and has gained praise for its compelling plot, well-developed characters, and impressive animation.
The anime’s popularity soared with the release of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Movie: Mugen Train,” which broke records as the biggest opening for a foreign-language film in North America and has become one of the highest-grossing anime movies worldwide.
Tara Cortner, president and general manager of Disguise, expressed excitement about the collaboration, stating, “We have an exciting debut line of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba costume accessories that is sure to delight fans and retailers alike.” Aniplex of America also shared their enthusiasm for the upcoming products, mentioning, “We hope fans will be thrilled to see these products hit the shelves, and we look forward to expanding the line further.”
Fans can anticipate the availability of Demon Slayer costume accessories both in-store and online in 2025. This collaboration between Disguise and Aniplex of America aims to bring a new level of engagement and excitement to fans of the anime series.
