Tennessee baseball is making waves at the College World Series for the second year in a row, and Vols fans are out in full force in Omaha to support their team. One particular spot that has become a hotspot for Vols fans is Rocco’s Pizza and Cantina, where a special partnership has been formed with the Vols NIL collective, also known as The Volunteer Club.
The exciting collaboration involves Rocco’s Jell-O Shot Challenge, a unique tradition in college baseball that has gained popularity since its inception in 2019. Fans, whether they are in Omaha or watching from home, can purchase a Jell-O Shot for $10 on The Volunteer Club’s website. Half of the proceeds from each shot will go to The Volunteer Club, while the other half will support Rocco’s.
For every Jell-O Shot bought by a fan of one of the eight teams competing in Omaha, Rocco’s Pizza and Cantina keeps track on a leaderboard. The team with the most shots purchased will be crowned the champion at the end of the College World Series. Last year, LSU took home the title with an impressive 68,888 Jell-O Shots sold.
Each shot costs $5, and Rocco’s Pizza and Cantina has a history of giving back to the community. Last season, they donated $1 from each $5 shot to a local food bank and contributed an additional 50 cents to the Heartland Food Bank in Omaha. This year, Tennessee is leading the pack with 2,358 Jell-O Shots purchased, with North Carolina following closely behind at 1,245.
The partnership between Rocco’s Jell-O Shot Challenge and the Tennessee Vols’ NIL collective exemplifies the spirit of camaraderie and support within the college baseball community. It not only provides fans with a fun and unique way to show their team spirit but also allows for charitable contributions to be made to worthy causes.
As the College World Series continues to unfold, all eyes will be on Rocco’s Pizza and Cantina and The Volunteer Club to see which team will come out on top in the Jell-O Shot Challenge. With Tennessee currently leading the pack, Vols fans are surely feeling confident and excited about the prospect of bringing home the championship title.
