Little Rock Running Club Hosts Free Run in Memory of Former KARK Anchor Alice Stewart
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – The Little Rock running community is coming together to host a special event in honor of former KARK 4 News anchor Alice Stewart. Stewart, who was known for her passion for running, tragically passed away in Virginia on May 18.
Alice Stewart was a prominent figure in the Little Rock running scene, having participated in events such as the Little Rock Marathon, where she even achieved 3rd place in its inaugural year. To commemorate her legacy and love for running, the Little Rock Roadrunners and Rock City Running will be organizing a free run on Global Running Day.
The event will take place on Wednesday, June 5 at 6 a.m. at Leiva’s coffee on Chenonceau in Little Rock. In addition to honoring Alice Stewart, the run will also serve as a fundraiser for Girls on the Run central Arkansas, a cause that was near and dear to Alice’s heart.
Those who wish to contribute to the cause and remember Alice Stewart can make donations at the event or donate to the Alice Stewart memorial fund at GOTRCentralArk.org. Let’s come together as a community to celebrate the life and legacy of Alice Stewart through our shared love for running.
