On the very first lap of the Singapore Grand Prix dotted Renault’s Nico Hülkenberg. When the German had the greatest need for it, the clash between George Russell and Romain Grosjean a safetycar on track.
Yet another crash a little later gave optimal conditions for the German’s attack. As he swept through the field from a hopeless position to ninth place, sat many Danish Kevin Magnussen fans and cursing Haas-trial away.
But there is a good reason that none of the ten cars were in the points selected to pitte at the first safetycar.

Romain Grosjean switched to the Saturday in Singapore, and from Sochi can Kevin Magnussen to do the same. The dane’s strong run does not make the situation easier.
– We have to analyze both of the cars, for Kevin was not slow. Right now the plan is to go back to the specification, as Romain used. But it has always been the plan, says Steiner.
