Rod Stewart is one of rock’s biggest stars, but the 74-year-old rock musician have also by the side of the music through many years, had a passionate hobby, namely model railways.

The aging rock star in his spare time over the last 23 years, built a gigantic model railway, inspired by the american cities of New York and Chicago in 1945.

And now he reveals the final outcome of his great work in the magazine Railway Models.

radio host Jeremy Vines claimed in his BBC Radio 2 show, that Rod Stewart had not built its jernbanemodel. It was immediately Rod Stewart to call Jeremy Vines up, there was the following explanation of the rockstjernen:

‘I will say, that I have built 90% of my jernbanemodel. The only thing I have not really been good at and still not good for the electrical installations. I’ve got a second to make.’

‘A lot of people laugh at me and say that it is a stupid hobby, but for me, it is a wonderful hobby,’ says Rod Stewart.

Rod Stewart have told to the magazine, Railway Model, that he has been working on its high-rise buildings, and landscapes, as well as other parts of the model railway, when he has been on tour. He prayed always for an extra large hotel room, so he could build on modeljernbanen, when he felt like it.

‘We told in advance the hotels, what I had going in. And they were very cooperative. They removed the beds in the hotel room, so there was more space to build on modeljernbanen,’ says Rod Stewart.
