Sonja Marie Jensen think that the problem is bigger than that.
– I will venture to assert, that the women who say they have experienced sexual harassment in their life as a politician, has been either extremely lucky, or they will not stand by it and recognize the problem, she says.
A study by the Economy and the ministry of the Interior, KL and Danish Regions showed in 2018, four out of ten kommunalpolitikere experienced harassment, threats, vandalism and violence.
Although Sonja Marie Jensen acknowledges that the situation is different now than it was just two years ago, the digital harassment, she has been exposed to, prompted her to strongly consider its participation in the debate on sexual harassment.
– Now #Meto movement, and it has made it a bit easier, but when you go out and give some examples of what has been out for, then it’s not free, she says.
