The conservative member of the European Parliament, Pernille Weiss, has gone it alone on the question whether Danish children of the ICE warriors need to be fetched home.
It will now be the party’s spokesman, Naser Khader, to ducking fellow party member in public.
– She has not coordinated it with the conservative folketingsgruppe. It is at their own expense. I speak on the party’s behalf as spokesman, says Naser Khader to Ekstra Bladet.
the only Party reacts to Pernille Weiss voted for a text in the European Parliament, where the member states ‘urges’ are encouraged to ‘let all the children (of fremmedkrigere) return to their countries of origin’.
the Extra Leaf would like to have the interview Pernille Weiss on the matter, but instead she has sent a more detailed comment via text message. Here she stresses that she vouches for her voice.
‘I voted in favour because I believe that it is an absolutely fundamental principle in our society that children should not be punished for their parents’ actions. In addition, children with Danish citizenship fundamental rights, which we are obliged to respect.’
‘Also, I have a hard time seeing how we in Denmark can expect that other countries will take against their citizens, as we show, if we don’t take responsibility for our,’ says Pernille Weiss, who underlines:
‘I will not help the IS-warriors home to Denmark, but I don’t think we can have it on our conscience, sitting children with a Danish passport in the world’s most dangerous areas – regardless of what their parents have done.’
But it is not at all the attitude of The Conservative Party, to all the children of IS-fighters need to be fetched home. It beats Naser Khader firm, as Ekstra Bladet asks him to explain the party’s views on the matter.
The conservative group’s position is that we should not send someone down and download them all. It must be based on specific, individual assessments.
– We do not know whether they all are Danish nationals. We do not know whether some of them have parents who have taken their citizenship. Therefore, it must be based on individual assessments, says Khader and continues:
– We also have some teenagers down there, which is judged to be a risk to the safety of the PET. DR’s correspondent has interviewed a nine-year-old boy, who said he will be a holy warrior. So it is not safe to just download them all, says Khader.
– You and Pernille Weiss are members of the same party. Would it not be best if In went in as?
– Now I can’t keep an eye on everything that people are doing in the European Parliament, says Naser Khader.
