A militærubåd of type Kilo Class moves in the course of christmas eve down in through the Sound. The submarine is on the way home to the Russian port in the Baltic sea, Kalliningrad.

As always, when a Russian submarine passing through Danish waters, the Danish defence, special attention.
– It is standard procedure that we follow them as they sail past. We are inside a distance of two to five miles of the submarine until it is out of Danish waters, says vagtchefen by the Defence operations centre.
the Russian vessels are not obliged to report their passage, if they fly one at a time. But follow the three or more vessels ad, it must be announced to the Danish authorities, that they sail through Danish waters.

Kilo-Class submarine is typically about 70 metres long and 27 metres high. It can travel up to 37 kilometers per hour(20 knots) under water.
