the city is known for The Four White men, who stands and looks out over the entrance to Esbjerg Harbour.
Now get the city soon another monument, is enough to cause a stir:
A 260 meters long and up to 9.5 metres high bombemur.
According to jv.dk needs the wall to protect road users against one of Esbjerg’s most dangerous companies, Kosan Gas, which handles more than one million gas cylinders a year. The wall works supposedly on the way, that it will lead a violent shock wave from an explosion over the motorists and road users. Kosan Gas is located on the H. E. Bluhmes Road and only a few hundred metres from the newly constructed marina, which in the vernacular has been dubbed Ørkenhavnen because of the violent sand.
the Municipality of Esbjerg call, however, not even the new wall for a bombemur. It has been given the name ‘the Wave’, because the wall waves back and forth in order to avoid a too massive expression.

GHB landscape Architects and COWI has, according to the jv.dk made the drawings of the security wall, which is now soon to be sent in the offer. The price will be around 6 million dollars, as Esbjerg taxpayers must pay.
There has been raised criticism that the citizens must fork out, when it is Kosan Gas, which constitutes the danger. The politicians ‘ position has been that the municipality must bear the cost, because one has made a new road closer to the potentially dangerous business.
Mayor Jesper Frost (V) is very pleased with the design of the new edifice. He stresses the opposite of the jv.dk, that the Wave will not appear as a wall.
– Wave will not appear as a floor or a wall, but simply as a hillside. The height varies from half a metre to 9.5 metres because of its undulating shape. We have tried to make something that looks great, at the same time that it functionally protects the users of Esbjerg Brew, says the mayor.
the Wave is expected to be finished in 2021.
