For the first time since 2016 was the English comedian Ricky Gervais Sunday back as the host for the 77. the distribution of the Golden Globe award in Los Angeles.

Gervais is known for making insulting jokes about the well-known and had, therefore, warned in advance of, that he would be just as serious as always, but that one should not take it so hard.

– Remember that it’s just jokes. We must all die soon. And there is no deuce, said the comedian in his introduction, before he started to insult celebrities.

It was the fifth time Ricky Gervais had was employed as a host, but the first time since the #meto-cases began to roll in 2016. Several of the cases have involved prominent Hollywood names, which the comedian did not fail to note.

– In this room sits some of the most important film – and tv-people in the world. People from widely different backgrounds who all have one thing in common: They are all afraid of Ronan Farrow, said Gervais, referring to The New Yorker journalist Ronan Farrow, who have contributed to the unveiling of more of the cases.
