Düsseldorf – People with special pre-existing conditions in priority group 2 can book appointments for corona vaccination in vaccination centres from today (30 April). Since 8 o’clock, the portals of the cash – medical associations – online or by phone-are open for it, the Health Ministry in North Rhine-Westphalia announced on Friday.

The vaccines from Moderna and Biontech would be used, there was no choice, the ministry had previously announced.

With the offer in the vaccination centers the country wants to reach, the vaccination of chronically ill to complete in May if possible. In addition, the vaccination of these patients continues with family doctors.

Chronic patients of priority 2 included, for example, contergan-damaged persons, organ transplants or people with lung and respiratory diseases. Patients would need a certificate from their doctor. However, this was not necessary when booking an appointment for the vaccination centres via the hotline or by e-mail, but had to be brought along at the vaccination date.

The number of new corona infections reported within one week fell further in North Rhine-Westphalia. According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the seven-day incidence on Friday was 166.8-on Thursday, 171.2 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants were reported within one week.
