LOS ANGELES , — Stars like Gwyneth paltrow and Serena Williams sat in the front row. Alessandro Michele’s nostalgia clothing designs, inspired by old Hollywood glamour, shined brightly during a Gucci fashion event in Los Angeles.
Jared Leto, Macaulay Culkin and many other models gracefully walked down the Walk of Fame runway during the Gucci Love Parade Tuesday night. The spectacle was so spectacular that it closed down Hollywood Boulevard for a few blocks.
The models were able to walk out of the TCL Chinese Theatre, and then walk down the sidewalks with a star-studded crowd that included Tracee Ellis Ross, Tyler, the Creator, Salma Hayek, Miley Cyrus and Gabrielle Union.
Michele’s new collection brought back his passion for old cinematic wardrobes with cowboy hats and feathered dresses, faux fur coats and diamond tiaras. He also created crop tops, voluminous dresses, and wide-leg pants. His models wore a mix of colors, including hot pink, lavender and teal suits and metallic and gold gowns. Black was also a favorite color.
Some models wore white pointed boots, flats in patent leather and chunky silver platform shoes. Face jewelry was another popular accessory. It was worn around the nose, cheekbones and neck.
Italic designer also created models of small- to medium-sized sizes.
After the show, Michele, Gucci’s creative director, stated that fashion has a responsibility to speak up. I see beauty everywhere. It’s organic and natural.
Leto, who will be starring in the film “House of Gucci,” was praised as he walked down the runway wearing an oversized double-breasted jacket with no shirt, laced white pants and boots, and a blazer with no sleeves. Culkin wore a bright jacket with a Hawaiian-style shirt, brown pants and a Gucci belt.
Michele said that it was a dream come real to show his work on the boulevard full of stars. He stated that the show reflected his “uncurbed passion for the classic world.”
The Italian designer said, “It’s almost like home.” He recalled his mother telling him about Hollywood and how it was a glamorous scene.
Michele stated that his mother would speak about Marilyn Monroe’s diaphanous vocal, Rita Hayworth’s black satin gloves, and Veronica Lake’s velvet hair. Her stories were like fairy tales, as they lived in Rome’s outskirts at the time.
He said, “It’s an area I love.” “There are elements close to my heart and I love them.” This city is an inspiration.
