The March 2 print edition of The Times featured Serena’s new capital venture fund, which is designed to support ideas from diverse creators. The article was entitled “Tennis Star’s Venture Firm has Raised $111 million.” It featured a photo of Venus Williams that was mistakenly identified as Serena.
No matter how far we go, we are reminded that it is not enough. In a Wednesday tweet, Williams stated that $111M was raised for @serenaventures. “This was our error,” the New York Times Business account tweeted Wednesday. It was caused by an error in selecting photos for the print edition. The correction did not appear online. Tomorrow’s paper will contain a correction.
CBS News reached out to The New York Times for comment but they did not respond immediately.
