LOS ANGELES — Jennifer Lopez gave an emotional speech on the role of believers and skeptics in her success as she accepted a career achievement award at Sunday’s MTV Movie & TV Awards.

Lopez said that she wanted to thank all those who brought me joy, as well as the ones who made me feel sad — the ones who were truthful and those who lied to her. Lopez won this year’s Generation Award for actors who have contributed to making them famous. For the song “On My Way”, from the “Marry Me,” soundtrack, she won best song — a category that was new — as well.

MTV’s youth-focused celebrations of TV and film featured 26 categories in gender-neutral categories such as best villain, best kiss, and new category “here to the hookup.” The ceremony, which was prerecorded several years ago, returned to live.

Lopez wept as she thanked her long-time manager, family, and children for “teaching” her to love, bringing cheers to the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

Lopez, 52, said that Lopez wanted to say “Thank You” and added, “You are only as good the people you work with.” If you’re lucky they can make you even better. That’s what I’ve experienced.

Lopez made her first break as a dancer in the 1990s sketch comedy “In Living Color”. She then pursued acting and was offered a lead role in “Selena” 1997. She would appear in films such as “Anaconda,” “Out of Sight,” “The Wedding Planner,” and “Marry Me”.

Lopez is a popular singer who has had many hits and albums on Latin and pop charts. Her multi-hit album “On the 6”, which she released in 1999, topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts with songs such as “If You Had My Love”, “All I Have”, and remixes to “I’m Real” and “Ain’t it Funny.”

In 2020, Lopez performed alongside Shakira during the Super Bowl halftime.

“Spider-Man: No Way Home”, the film that won seven awards, was the most nominated. It won best movie and Tom Holland, the film’s star, was awarded best performance in a movie. Zendaya was awarded best performance in a television series for her role as Zendaya in “Euphoria,” the show that won best show. “Here for the Hookup” was also awarded to the HBO series.

He said, “I need a little bit of oxygen,” before listing several films he has starred in, such as “School of Rock” or “Jumanji.”

“Comedic genius. Are you serious? Black asked, “For what?” “I don’t deserve it, but I’ll take it.”

Sophia Di Martino, “Loki”, won the breakthrough performance for her role in Disney Plus’s Sylvie. She spoke about her 9-month-old pregnancy when she was offered the role and how her baby was only 3 months old when she began filming.
