The Primavera Sound festival has replaced this Thursday the large canvas on which the mayor of Barcelona, ??Ada Colau, and the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, appeared kissing, with another on which the former Barça coaches, Pep Guardiola and Real Madrid, José Mourinho.
The large banner replicates the famous mural painted on the remains of the Berlin Wall in which the leader of the Soviet Union Leonid Brezhnev and the president of the German Democratic Republic Erich Honecker kissing on the mouth, the work of the Russian artist Dmitri Vrubel.
As in the original work, the image of Guardiola and Mourinho kissing is accompanied by the words in Russian “My God, help me to survive this mortal love”.
Right next to the kiss between Guardiola and Mourinho, the festival has placed another banner that reads: “Barcelona Madrid = Primavera Sound. Diversity, Culture, Tolerance”, and in which it announces the sale of tickets for the edition of the next year, to be held in both cities.
The controversy over the celebration of Primavera Sound in the two cities and the tense relationship between the organizers and the Barcelona council was reactivated at the beginning of the festival when the co-director of the festival Gabi Ruiz charged against the Barcelona City Council, threatening to definitively leave the Catalan capital.
The City Council responded that they consider it perfectly compatible for Primavera Sound to be held next year in the two capitals and has offered the festival organizers an agreement for the coming years, with the aim that they have the stability they need to program with weather.
