A plane from the Dominican Republic, an SRL 203 of the Red Air airline, caught fire this Tuesday afternoon in an emergency landing at Miami International Airport due to a failure in the landing gear.

150 passengers and 11 crew members were traveling on the plane, among whom panic has spread in the presence of the flames. However, and despite the emergency of the situation, only three people have been injured and have been taken to hospital.

The fire has affected a communications tower and a small building on the runway. The emergency landing occurred around 5:30 p.m. local time (11:30 p.m. Spanish time) and 15 minutes later the fire was already out.

Several firefighters have had to rush to the scene to control the fire and the fuel spill, spreading foam all over the fuselage and on the runway.

As a result of the accident, several flights from the Miami airport have been delayed and, as a result, many passengers have been affected before returning to normal.
