One year and 18 months in prison for a crime of taking property. This is the sentence that Bárbara Rey has received, who has chosen to admit her guilt and agree with the Prosecutor’s Office for this crime in which her sister, her children and her niece were also involved.
As a result of this pact, the former star has managed to reduce her sentence to less than two years and pay 2,000 euros, so she will not go to prison. However, the actress has not remained silent in the face of this situation, but rather she has preferred to explain it directly to the media; She also took the opportunity to throw a small poisoned dart towards her son, Ángel Cristo Jr.
It all started when the former star’s daughter, Sofía Cristo, commented on the issue as a collaborator of Espejo Público, taking the issue away. “It seems as if my mother had committed a super crime. My mother in the end tried to protect us all,” she explained.
The DJ admitted that “it’s not nice that you have a criminal record,” but at no time could her mother be considered a “delinquent.” Bárbara Rey herself entered the program live by phone, ready to explain everything that happened in her agreement with the Tax Agency.
According to Ángel Cristo’s ex-wife, years ago he had a retroactive Treasury inspection that would have affected him. Not agreeing with the amount that the public body was asking for, she decided to go to trial on the advice of his lawyer. At that moment, she took the opportunity to comment that she had previously put a property in the name of his son, Ángel Cristo, and he “was delighted” with that decision: “You can tell that he likes money.”
The former star also put the properties she had in the names of relatives, as they recommended. Even so, the Tax Agency took precautionary measures on the properties and could not do anything with them, as she explains.
In 2018 the trial came, where according to her she was exonerated from what was asked of her in exchange for an amount for those last years. Later, Barbara sold a property, paid the loan and provided great financial help to her children.
“As my son was married and had bought a very old villa, I paid him to renovate everything. I gave him the furniture from my house in La Moraleja,” he says, revealing that the lawyers thought that everything would be dismissed, but it was not. Since that moment he has been in and out of court to resolve the conflict.
“Above all, I have done it thinking about my family,” says the former star, who preferred not to talk about her son, although he is somehow “involved” in the whole situation. “My son lives with me and then when I decide to rent the house, he goes every summer with his family and they continue to go with the keys because it was uninhabited for a while and then rented but they could use all the common areas.”
What’s more, according to the former star, it is possible that there was someone – whom she does not name – who was willing to go to jail as long as she went too.
