Police announced Friday that an ex-boyfriend was arrested in connection to the shooting death of a mother who was pushing her baby in a stroller while she was in New York City.
Azsia Johnson (20 years old) was shot in the head in an attack that was described as horrific by the mayor of the city.
Keechant Sewell, city’s police commissioner announced that Isaac Argro (22 years old) was arrested and charged with murder as well as criminal possession of a weapon.
According to a spokesperson for the New York City Police Department, Johnson’s ex-boyfriend, Argro, from Brooklyn, is the father of the stroller’s baby, according to a spokesperson.
Officials have confirmed that the incident did not cause any harm to the baby, who was three months old.
It wasn’t immediately clear if Argro was represented by an attorney.
According to police, a man dressed in black sweatshirt and pants approached Johnson while she was pushing the stroller along East 95th Street. He shot her once at close range and then fled on foot.
