VIRGINIA BEACH (VA) — Authorities say that a 12-year-old boy disappeared while swimming off Virginia Beach’s coast was discovered dead Sunday afternoon.
Local news outlets reported that divers, boats, and at least one helicopter were all involved in the search for the boy. He was last seen in the water by his family around 10:30 AM. The search was also carried out by the U.S. Coast Guard and Virginia Marine Resources Commission.
Virginia Beach police reported that the child was found in water just before 1:30 p.m., and declared dead.
