The fire that caused the fire in the Campanar building that claimed the lives of 10 people originated inside the house due to an appliance in the kitchen. This has been confirmed by the Government delegate in the Valencian Community, Pilar Bernabé, in statements to the media this Monday in Valencia.

Bernabé has stressed that it was a “fortuitous event” and that investigations indicate that there is no “criminal event.” He has also pointed out that insurers can now begin to evaluate the damages to proceed with the corresponding compensation.

In this way, the thesis is ruled out that an electrical failure in the awning was the cause of the fire that ended up, after rapid spread, consuming both the building where the fire originated and the adjacent one in flames. The result: 10 people lost their lives.
