The PP has expanded the focus of the demand for explanations and the assumption of responsibilities of the PSOE to Sumar and now includes the current head of the Ministry of Health, Mónica García, in its offensive against the Government for the Koldo case, the alleged corrupt plot that the National Court is investigating that it charged commissions for the sale of masks to public institutions and organizations during the pandemic.
“Every day we are clearer that we are at the beginning, we know only the tip of the iceberg of this corrupt plot,” said the general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, for whom the Koldo case is not something anecdotal but “structural” in the Government of Pedro Sánchez, for which he has promised that his party “will go to the end” in all judicial instances, also in Europe, where today he will present a complaint before the Court of Justice of the European Union and the European Office of Fight against Fraud for the alleged embezzlement of European funds.
After subjecting the president of Congress, Francina Armengol, to a constant siege during the previous weeks for the contracts that the Balearic Government, when she presided, signed with the company linked to the plot, Gamarra has announced that this week the PP He will ask the ministers in the control sessions of both chambers who, in his opinion, must account for what they knew about the information that is being leaked. “The Spaniards have the right to know,” reiterated the popular leader, who has accused Sánchez of “opacity” for his “silence” since the case was uncovered three weeks ago.
But although the “epicenter” of the Koldo case, as Gamarra has pointed out, is in the Ministry of Transport, which has led to the departure of the socialist group of former minister José Luis Ábalos, the PP considers that the plot reaches the “heart” of the Government and the president’s “circle of trust”, which is why he has criticized Sánchez for “counterattacking” instead of offering answers to the numerous pending questions.
“It may take more or less, but everyone who is involved will have to assume responsibilities,” announced the general secretary of the PP, who has indicated to all the members of the Government that, in addition to the president of Congress, they have to respond: the Vice President María Jesús Montero, because, as Gamarra has denounced, she did not go to court to report the accounting irregularities that the Ministry of Finance detected in the accounts of the company linked to the plot, Management Solutions.
And with her, the Minister of Transportation, Óscar Puente, because he maintains senior officials who, according to the popular leader, are still “there” when it is known, due to the data that is becoming known about the plot, that they held meetings with the commission agents investigated. Although there has already been a dismissal, that of Álvaro Sánchez, who was general secretary of State Ports, for Gamarra there are more people responsible, which is why he has wondered what Puente has known in recent days to lose confidence and dismiss a high official.
Along the same lines, he continued with the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, who was asked if he knew about the investigation and since when and if, therefore, he was aware of the “snitches” that put the investigated.
