The drop in the water level in the Sau swamp, in the Barcelona region of Osona, has made it possible to find a Romanesque capital, probably from the Benedictine monastery of Sant Pere de Casserres.
Sources from the body of the Rural Agents of the Generalitat have reported this Saturday that the capital was found out of the water by a neighbor from Osona who was walking in the area.
This citizen reported the discovery and, in the first instance, was inspected by rural agents.
Later, technicians from the Department of Culture analyzed the capital and concluded that it possibly came from the monastery of Sant Pere de Casserres, located on the banks of the reservoir.
Members of the ministry and rural agents proceeded to transfer it to the Vilanova de Sau City Council (Barcelona), where it was deposited in custody while waiting for its final location to be decided.
