The deadline to apply for the Youth Cultural Bonus has been extended by 15 days, until October 31 at 11:59 p.m., and now it can also be requested at Post Offices. Young people born in 2004 will thus have two more weeks than initially planned to sign up for this money card in order to consume cultural products more economically.

The Official State Gazette has today published this decision approved by the Government after the Minister of Culture, Miquel Iceta, recognized on September 14 that the mechanism for registering for the Youth Cultural Voucher “is not easy”. The bonus offers 400 euros to those who turn 18 this year, but the process to request it is complicated as it is a personalized subsidy.

Since the deadline to request it was opened on July 25, social networks have been filled with complaints from young people who highlight the difficulty in registering. Most of the problems have been found in the fact that to apply for the bonus you have to obtain a digital certificate at the link https://www.sede.fnmt.gob.es/certificados or in the cl@ve authentication system. .

In response to repeated complaints, as of this Tuesday, the Bonoculturajoven.gob.es website incorporates an option that allows you to also request the Youth Cultural Bonus through the 2,389 Post Offices in Spain. Thus, the Ministry intends to streamline the application process and encourage the maximum number of young people to access the 400-euro subsidy.

Among the requirements that must be met to access the Youth Cultural Bonus are turning 18 years old in 2022, from January 1 to December 31. Therefore, even if they have not turned 18 before the application deadline, extended until October 31; all young people from 2004 will be able to access the subsidy as well.

The card will have this distribution:

The item earmarked for this bond is 210 million euros that will be earmarked for approximately 500,000 young Spaniards. Although the request is now, the aid will not be understood until next year and whose item has been included in the General State Budget project for 2023.
