Espanyol will wear pink at the RDCE Stadium. The blue and white club has announced this Friday that next Sunday against Valladolid, the team will play with the second kit on the occasion of the world day of the fight against breast cancer.
The perica entity reported that various actions will be carried out on October 16. For its part, the women’s team will join the initiative in its league match against Oviedo, which takes place on Saturday. Likewise, all the men’s and women’s grassroots teams will join the campaign whenever possible.
Like every year, Espanyol joins the initiatives promoted by the Barcelona Association Against Cancer. To do this, the RCDE Stadium will light up pink at the end of the match. In addition, at the RCDE Store in Cornellà you can buy a new perica scarf in shades of pink, whose profits from this Sunday’s sale will go to the Association Against Cancer.
Under the slogan ‘Pink is more than a color’, the ACC will have a tent in the Fan Zone and the RCDE Volunteers and volunteers from the association will raise funds for it, both in the Fan Zone and inside the RCDE Stadium . The meeting will be attended, as invited associations, by Invicancer, Endavant Chic@s and the Association against Metastatic Cancer.
Diego Martínez’s men hope that the pink will bring them luck in their stadium, where they have not yet been able to achieve any victory so far this season. In fact, he accumulates three defeats and a draw. Adding the three points against the Valladolid team would allow Espanyol to move away from the relegation places. With six points, they are currently fourth from bottom tied with Sevilla, third from last.
