Tabarnia has returned to the scene today with the help of the president of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, and the presentation of the annual awards, especially the one received by the former secretary general of the PSE, Nicolás Redondo Terreros. Although the celebration event has been given humor, the tension of the political context, the harsh confrontation between socialists and popular ones, has been present in the words of Ayuso, who has considered that in “these unfortunate years – in reference to the mandate of Pedro Sánchez – crime is normalized and normal life is criminalized.” A political scenario in which the president of Madrid considers that the Government, with the approval of the Amnesty law, is “transferring the breakup of Catalonia to Spain.”

Tabarnia, as will be remembered, was the platform created to symbolically demand during the process the independence of a territory of Catalonia in the event of secession. Ayuso, “president” of this imaginary community – along with the playwright Albert Boadella – has descended into the political arena, accusing the PSOE of transferring the political rupture not only with regard to the territorial debate but also to “the whole of Spain” – Also, he noted, “between men and women, between rich and poor, between the countryside and the city.” A situation in which, in her opinion, a “giant disincentive” to what it means to be Spanish is being generated.

If in the morning she already referred to the investigation opened by the Treasury against her partner, Alberto González Amador, accusing Moncloa of plotting plots against her, hours later she assured that she has a very clear conscience. In her words during the awards ceremony, the popular leader has once again offered the community of Madrid to all those citizens – with special mention for the Catalans – who “can’t take it anymore, who want prosperity and to live in peace.” ”.

Nicolás Redondo Terreros has taken the rostrum as the first winner, in a week that he described as “the saddest of the last 40 years in Spain.” The former secretary general of the Basque socialists, who was expelled from his party last September for his criticism of his party, has considered that despite everything Spain has been through – he has cited, for example, the terrorism of ETA- this week “the great betrayal of the 1978 Constitution” will be consummated.

Despite considerations about the tense political scene, the event took place alongside Boadella’s humour, and where politicians from the PP and Ciutadans shared the table. Marcos de Quintos –former Ciudadanos deputy-, the journalist Sergio Fidalgo and the university association S’ha ibat! have also been awarded. In the morning, Ayuso met in Castelldefels with the hospitality union, together with the mayor, Manu Reyes, where they discussed the debate on closing times.
