Reality contestant Liam Trimmer, 29, tragically passed away after severing his carotid artery in a tragic accident at his home in Western Australia last Sunday.

Despite the efforts made by his loved ones to revive him, Liam ended up losing his life shortly before the arrival of paramedics, as reported by authorities.

Commissioner Col Blanch described Trimmer as an “extraordinary young man with a whole life ahead of him” and noted his role as an outstanding police officer who loved helping his community. Blanch also expressed the difficulty the Western Australian Police Department is going through at the moment, stating that everyone involved in the attempt to save Trimmer is deeply affected by the tragedy.

The incident, which resulted in a ruptured carotid artery, was not detailed by police, who indicated that the case will be investigated by a coroner. The carotid arteries, located on both sides of the neck, are important blood vessels that provide blood supply to the brain.

Liam Trimmer moved from the UK to Australia in 2013 to join the police force. After completing his training at the academy in 2017, he moved to Kalgoorlie, where he worked in organized crime and police tactical response units.

Regarded as a “role model” for the police force, Trimmer encouraged other young UK citizens to move to Western Australia, even taking part in the BBC series “Wanted Down Under”, which explored the lives of would-be migrants.

The state’s own police union also expressed its condolences for Trimmer’s loss, highlighting his valuable service and contribution to the community.
