It is 30 years since the birth of La Macarena, one of the most famous songs in the world created by Los del Río. To commemorate this anniversary, and in the process clarify all doubts about its authorship, Movistar will soon release the documentary Macarena.
The Sevillian duo, formed by Rafael Ruiz and Antonio Romero, stopped by La Resistencia to sing, tell jokes, measure their heads and talk about their new project, but as usual they also had to answer the program’s traditional questions.
La Macarena is a song that is known all over the world and that, despite being three decades old, continues to be played often. That, in some way, has to impact the duo’s pockets. “You’re loaded,” Broncano suggested.
Neither has given an exact figure. Antonio assured that “the money is from the bank” but Rafael told an anecdote to illustrate his assets: “I had an aunt who said nephew, I have money to singe a cow in the sea, well that’s what I have.” Despite this answer, Broncano did not fully understand what he was referring to.
In the sexual field he had the same luck as with money. The two singers, maintaining the tone of the entire interview, preferred to tell jokes and go off into the wild telling anecdotes. “He wants to find out everything,” Antonio lamented, while Rafael explained that the most correct thing to do, although he was not going to do it, would be to answer with “what do you care?”
Finally, as Broncano wanted to know the number of sexual relations in the last month of the duo, but they continued doing their thing, Antonio ended up passing sentence on the presenter: “You are heavier than a necklace of melons.”
Faced with this response, the man from Jaen could only admit that his guests had won the game. “I’m totally defeated,” Broncano said when he saw that the duo continued to delay him, not answering anything and telling jokes. “We have him like Cassius Clay,” Antonio observed, very proud of having gotten his way.
