Young Sheldon is in the final stretch. One would think that the scriptwriters, to capture the attention of the media and the lost public, would look for a way to include cameos from The Big Bang Theory, beyond Jim Parsons and Mayim Bialik, who have already been announced. And who are they trying to bring back to the fictional universe? He may not be the person fans on this side of the Atlantic expect.

Steve Holland, the current showrunner of the series, confessed to the TVLine portal that they would be delighted to have Reba McEntire back. She “has expressed interest in her but she is very busy” and, it seems, “it is a matter of logistics” for her to be able to return. For example, she is filming a comedy pilot and is also participating in the latest edition of The Voice, the musical competition.

Reba McEntire’s first appearance on Young Sheldon was in the third season. She appeared as June, Dale’s ex, with whom Meemaw (Annie Potts) established an unexpected friendship. She liked the character so much that she was in three episodes in the fourth season and in another two in the fifth.

McEntire in the United States is an undisputed star for two reasons. On the one hand, since 1977, when he released his debut album, he is a country music star with 29 albums and 50 million copies sold. On the other hand, she has forged a career as an actress, having her own sitcom, Reba, which ran for six seasons between 2001 and 2007.

Waiting to see if he has time in his schedule to make a cameo in the final season of Young Sheldon, this information allows us to realize to what extent the production of the seventh season has not yet finished despite it being broadcast in United States.

It premiered on February 15 and its final episode, which will feature Parsons and Bialik as Sheldon Cooper and Amy Farrah Fowler, is scheduled to air on May 16. Luckily for the public, this is not the end of the fictional universe: the CBS channel, which broadcasts the series, has already commissioned a spin-off about Georgie and Mandy for the 2024/2025 season that begins in the fall.
