The “bloody packages” with “animal eyes” that have been received by various Ukrainian legations in Europe also reach Spain. Police sources assure that an envelope of these characteristics —and without Spanish postage— has arrived at the Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid. Inside was the crushed eye of an animal.

The National Police has cordoned off the Ukrainian legation in Spain this Friday – for the second time in 48 hours – after receiving a new suspicious envelope. After 2:00 p.m., the Embassy’s security filter detected a suspicious shipment, according to Interior sources.

The embassy was already agreed last Wednesday by the Police after a worker was injured – slightly – when handling an envelope containing pyrotechnic material. It was one of the six threatening envelopes addressed to politicians, institutions or companies that have in common their support for the Ukrainian people against the Russian invasion.

This Friday, after detecting the new suspicious shipment, the agents who were in security work outside the embassy immediately evacuated the building and Tedax technicians went to the place.

The package has tested negative for explosives, although a more exhaustive analysis is being carried out according to the protocol, the same sources detail. The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has reported that “a blood-stained package similar to those already received by other diplomatic representations” has also been received at the Madrid headquarters.

According to the Ministry of the Interior, the fact that its postage is not Spanish, together with its characteristics, could be related to shipments that have been intercepted at other Ukrainian embassies and consular offices in different European countries.

Several Ukrainian embassies in European countries have received “bloody packages” with animal eyes, according to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry. These are those of Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Croatia and Austria.
