The president of the PP, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, revealed this Wednesday that 166 organic positions of Ciudadanos have become part of his party while he praised the deputy mayor of Madrid, Begoña Villacís, of Ciudadanos who could end up in the PP.

“166 organic positions of Ciudadanos have voluntarily joined the PP, and some will be on the PP lists” and others have positions in the PP governments in Andalusia or Madrid “and they work well,” Feijóo said in an interview in Zero Wave. Among other things, Feijóo pointed out because the two parties are from the “reformist center” and that helps them to have the same approaches.

Asked about Villacis and if the PP intends to sign her, the popular president assured that he has a “good concept” of the deputy mayor, who “has given stability to the Martínez Almeida government and has been loyal”, the opposite of what happened with the representatives of Cs in the Community of Madrid, he stressed.

However, he assured that Villacís has not told him or Elías Bendodo, at least the general coordinator of the PP has not told him, that he wants to join the PP. If that were the case, he said, “the first thing would be to talk to the Madrid comrades” to see if they want to include it on the lists.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, confirmed this Wednesday in an interview on RNE that yesterday, Tuesday, he met with the deputy mayor at her request to discuss “what had happened” in recent days, although he has not given more details. Asked about the possibility of Villacís going on the electoral lists of the PP in the Consistory, Almeida has indicated that the lists “do not lead anywhere, but to distract us”, and has recalled that the elections are called on April 4 and the electoral list two weeks later.
