The explosive devices deactivation agents of the National Police (Tedax) have evacuated this Wednesday part of the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense, in the Paseo de la Castellana in Madrid, after the arrival of two suspicious packages.

This was confirmed by sources from the Department headed by Margarita Robles, who still could not say if the threat was real.

Minutes after the eviction, police sources have confirmed to La Vanguardia that they have not found any explosive material in the packages.

The alert has jumped around 1:30 p.m. At that time, the state security forces and bodies have been alerted “to the detection at the Ministry of Defense headquarters of two suspicious packages,” the sources say. At that time the protocol was activated and, after securing the area, the specialists proceeded to verify that the packages do not contain explosives or other harmful substances.

It should be remembered that the same official building was the destination of one of the incendiary envelopes allegedly sent by a 74-year-old retired former official, arrested last week in Miranda del Ebro.

On that occasion, incendiary envelopes were received at the Government Presidency, at the Ukrainian Embassy, ??at the Torrejón de Ardoz Air Base and at an arms company in Zaragoza.
