Inditex has closed an agreement this Thursday to equalize the salary conditions for the employees of all its stores in Spain. The agreement establishes that the workers of the different brands will receive a minimum salary of 18,000 and 24,500 euros gross per year, depending on the position and seniority, according to sources from the company with headquarters in Arteixo. “The agreement solves some of the injustices that occurred in the group and finally begins a path of homogeneity in the different brands and territories,” UGT explains in a statement.

The so-called group 1 of workers will have a fixed salary of 18,000 euros per year. This category corresponds to sales clerks and cashiers with less than 18 months of seniority in the company. Group 2, for its part, which reaches the same workers with between 18 months and four years of seniority, will have a salary of 20,000 euros per year. Group 3, shop assistants and cashiers with more than four years of seniority, will have a salary of 22,000 euros per year. And group 4, corresponding to store managers and central cashiers, will reach 24,500 euros per year.

Other variable concepts will be added to these group salary tables, such as commissions, incentives or night work, which are contemplated in the applicable collective agreements. The bonuses paid by Inditex are not included in these minimums.

All these salaries will increase annually according to the evolution of the CPI. They will be paid in twelve monthly installments. With this agreement there will be workers who will see a salary increase of more than 6,000 euros a year on their payrolls. In general, the improvement in salaries for workers in Inditex stores is around 20%, although in some territories it reaches 40%.

In the agreement reached this Thursday, it is also contemplated that Sundays that are outside the ordinary working day and/or volunteers will be paid at 12 euros per hour, plus one free hour, or 24 euros per hour at the choice of the worker. On Sundays of ordinary working hours they will be paid at 10 euros per hour.

In the payroll for February of this year and in the same month of 2024, all the staff of the Inditex stores will receive a bonus of 1,000 euros, for contracts of 24 hours or more, and 600 for the rest.

This salary agreement in the main textile company in the country will be valid for three years and will begin to be applied to the payroll in March 2023, retroactively to January 1. The agreement has been signed with the UGT and CCOO less than 48 hours after a strike called by the CGT union.
