The case of Antonio Tejado continues to be one of the most controversial in the world of social chronicle in recent months. The former collaborator of multiple television programs was arrested in January, on suspicion of belonging to a gang that robbed homes in El Aljarafe, Seville. A fact that became even more complicated when it was discovered that one of the houses robbed was that of his aunt, María del Monte, last August.
Since then, multiple spotlights have been opened around the singer’s family. The last and most recent of them occurred this Friday, when Tejado declared himself innocent before the judge and sent a clear and direct message: “I am convinced that my aunt knows that I have nothing to do with it.” A day before, at the Idol Awards gala, María Patiño spared no expense in giving her opinion on the case.
“I have the feeling that Antonio has been a big mouth. I think he has spoken out and that his lifestyle has led him to associate with inappropriate people. It’s hard for me to believe that he did it intentionally, because he is a coward, and I know him well. But, in any case, he has not dedicated himself to the world of television for a long time, so it is not an issue that he controls perfectly, ”said the former substitute presenter of Sálvame.
The Galician also had the opportunity to update the reporters present on the status of María del Monte, who has found herself in the spotlight of many microphones since her nephew was arrested: “María is having a really bad time and she deserves to be happy once, because in addition, she has tried to be well since her mother died in 2021. And, unlike Isabel Pantoja, she has not been proclaiming it to the four winds.”
Regarding his statement this Friday, his lawyer Fernando Velo answered the questions that remained in the air before the media. “He has flatly denied that he ever provided information so that not this robbery, but any robbery, could be committed. He has ultimately maintained his innocence,” he commented, before denying any criminal connection with the band’s leader, Arsen Garibian (El Ruso).
The lawyer has ruled that Tejado’s only relationship with the case is “a connection with the victim and with one of those investigated.” Similarly, he has addressed the issue of the telephone taps that the detainee allegedly suffered during the investigation: “They are an investigative procedure. In listening we will have to see what is there and what is not there. “There is nothing that relates it, in our opinion, to the facts.”
