Joaquín Torres is going through a difficult personal moment. On March 2, his mother, Joaquina Verez Vivanco, died after fighting a long illness. Days after the loss of his mother, the architect accused, along with the rest of his siblings, his brother Julio of having kept all of his parents’ assets after taking control of his business conglomerate.
According to the architect’s statements in Semana magazine, his parents went from having assets of 41 million euros to practically nothing, having to depend financially on their children. ”He took all the money from my parents, he left them absolutely destitute,” Torres declared.
This past Thursday, the Espejo Público collaborator visited the Sonsoles Ónega program, where he opened up on the channel about the family conflict. ”I have a lot of hate,” stressed the totally devastated architect. ”My brother was a very authoritarian person, he did what he wanted, always with shouts (…) My brother was leaving each society that was going to zero, ruined,” he explained.
Therefore, the architect had one goal: to recover his parents’ money. ”My mother asked me to go to the end, to recover her assets among her children, to not allow Julio to keep everything,” declared Raúl Prieto’s husband.
Furthermore, Torres claimed that his mother had suffered a lot because of the conflict with his brother. ”She says goodbye to all of us and I say ”Mom, do you want me to call Julio?” and she says ”No, I want to die in peace” (…)My mother dies losing her little son “I didn’t want to suffer anymore,” he said. ”How can a mother handle it when her son sues her and asks for three years in prison,” she asserted.
This Friday, the Y Ahora Sonsoles program exclusively revealed the last conversation that the architect had had with his brother. ”Do whatever the hell you want, like you’re already doing, but stop beating up our parents, no one deserves what you’re putting them through. You are the worst of the worst. Here the only one who has been solely managed everything to keep the heritage is you. The day your children find out what a scumbag you are, your world will fall to the ground,” Torres wrote.
”Telling mom everything you’ve told her describes you…If you’ve had affection for her, leave her alone. I’m not going to stop until I strip you of everything you’ve stolen from them. Julio, have the dignity, if you have ever known what that is. Leave dad and mom alone, don’t continue tormenting them. Your lack of humanity borders on the sick,” the architect concluded. ”Joaquín, enjoy what you are doing and what you have done,” the brother responded.
