Eva Santolaria is one of the most popular actresses in our country. Her rise to fame occurred more than two decades ago with the Antena 3 Compañeros series, where she played one of the most beloved characters on the small screen, Valle. A role that has been very present throughout her professional career and that to this day she continues to remember with great affection.
This week, the Catalan actress visited the Movistar podcast Los del plus, presented by Carolina Iglesias and Juan Sanguino, to promote the second season of the series Todos Mienten, created by her husband Pau Freixas and starring Irene Arcos, Leonardo Sbaraglia, Natalia Verbeke , Juan Diego Botto, Miren Ibarguren, Ernesto Alteiro or Eva Santolaria, among others.
During her interview on the podcast, the interpreter of the remembered Valle wanted to reveal what it was like to play a character so loved by the audience. ”Valle was the cool girl in high school. “I was never the cool girl,” said presenter Juan Sanguino.
”I had a super cool adolescence, but I was not the most popular in my group of friends. It was a group of cool friends, but I stayed with the coats while my friends went out to flirt,” commented the actress. ”You were Luismi,” said presenter Carolina Iglesias.
For this reason, the Catalan confessed that Antena 3’s fiction gave her the opportunity to play the role of a rebellious teenager that had nothing to do with her experience at high school. ”The series allowed me to be that slightly rebellious teenager that she always wanted to be. She also allowed me to have that escape valve, which I think I have, which was that of the vindictive girl. All the issues she fought for, like justice, allowed you to have a speaker that I felt very comfortable with. “I liked being the leader and the one who claimed things,” she says.
After these words, Carolina Iglesias recalled that in the series there was a sexist teacher with whom Valle always had many confrontations. ”She called him sexist and she confronted him,” the presenter said. ”It was a very advanced series for the time. All of us who were part of Compañeros felt very proud to be part of the series,” said Eva Santolaria.
