The Aura Fórum room, of the Aura Seguros company, hosted the presentation of the Manolo Sanlúcar Museum and International Institute of Flamenco Guitar on Friday afternoon. This event is part of the activities of the Santa Coloma Flamenco Festival of Gramanet Flamenco-On. A festival that aims to promote and spread the art of flamenco in Catalonia.

The president of the Manolo Sanlúcar Foundation, José Martínez, has shown his satisfaction with the announcement made, stating that the Manolo Sanlúcar Andalusian People’s Palace will be a reality starting in June. He has also announced the opening of the Manolo Sanlúcar International Flamenco Guitar Institute. In this regard, its director Juan Carlos Romero highlighted the skills and knowledge that the center’s teachers will have, since many have been disciples of the teacher and will undergo prior training before teaching classes. Thus, the headquarters that will host the training of future teachers who will later direct the affiliated centers will be located in Sanlúcar de Barrameda. In this regard, the opening of different city centers in Spain and European countries in the coming months has also been announced.

Regarding the Palacio del Pueblo Andaluz Manolo Sanlúcar Museum, the technical director of the museum project, the anthropologist, Oriol Flo, highlighted that the space will serve to have a global experience about the work and life of the great flamenco master Manolo Sanlúcar. As well as having an approach to the most intimate and personal aspects of him.

The museum located in a modernist palace in Sanlúcar de Barrameda from 1907 decoratively brings together aspects of Catalan and Andalusian modernism, it has a functional and adaptable structure to be able to exhibit different thematic samples of the master given the depth and richness of the legacy guarded by the Manolo Sanlúcar Foundation.

On the other hand, this same Saturday, March 16 at 7 pm, at the Zorrilla Theater in Badalona, ??Flamenco-ON will close with a tribute gala directed by Juan Carlos Romero, with the participation of Marina Heredia, Carmen Linares , Antonio Reyes, Juan Carlos Romero, José Antonio Rodríguez, The dance with Eva Yerbabuena and

Marco Flores, the percussion of Tino di Geraldo and the choirs of the Mellis, Naike Ponce and Carmen Molina. The actor who will host the show is the renowned Antonio Dechent.

On the fifth anniversary of the Flamenco-ON festival, we wanted to pay tribute to the greatest genius in the history of flamenco, Manolo Sanlúcar, creator of great pieces for the National Ballet of Spain such as Medea and soleá, among many others. Sanlúcar set music to poems by the writer Antonio Gala and the Cádiz poet Rafael Albertí in works such as La Gallarda, brought to the stage by Montserrat Caballé, Ana Belén and José Sacristán, among others.
