Center back Ronald Araujo assured that he is “very happy” at Barcelona, ??a club where he has been for “a long time”, but he does not know what will happen in the future.
This was commented in an interview published by the Uruguayan media Sport890. Araujo, who is in the running to leave Barcelona and is one of Bayern Munich’s targets, said after the move against Naples that his future depended on what the Catalan club decided.
“I always say that I am very happy here in Barcelona, ??I have been here for a long time and well, then I don’t know what will happen, but I always say that I am very happy here,” said the center back.
In any case, Araujo believes that it is “a little difficult” for any club to pay his termination clause (1000 million euros), which is why he feels “very calm” and “quite focused” on what is coming.
“We didn’t start well (the season), but we have two competitions (League and Champions) that we can finish in a good way,” the center-back insisted.
He referred to the decision of the coach, Xavi Hernández, to leave the team at the end of the season, and in this regard he commented that the squad trusts the coach a lot.
“He told us that he was staying until the end of the season and we are going to give it our all, so from there, we continue working and believing in what he says, he is guiding us and… moving forward,” he added.
Finally he spoke about the Champions League quarterfinal tie against PSG, which he described as “a nice rival, very good” and led by Luis Enrique: “a great coach.”
“You have to prepare for that game and know their characteristics, that they have very unbalanced players up front,” said Rivera’s center back.
