Agents of the National Police, in a joint operation with the Polish police (CBSP), have dismantled in a Valencian municipality a criminal organization of Polish origin dedicated to sending weapons and different types of drugs between their country and Spain. During the operation, which has been carried out in three phases, four people have been arrested, including the organization’s leader, police sources have reported.

In the searches carried out during the police operation, two submachine guns, two pistols (one of them with a silencer) and a revolver have been seized, as well as 240 kilos of marijuana, two and a half kilos of Speed, a kilo of cocaine, 90 drug pills synthetic (MDMA) and 5350 euros in cash. Among the seized material, a drone was also located that the organization used to provide security for its criminal activity.

The investigation, which began at the end of 2021, focused on Polish citizens settled in various parts of eastern Spain who were allegedly engaged in arms and drug trafficking. The agents found out that they cultivated, prepared and stored marijuana for later distribution in different countries of the European Union, and that they transported weapons from Poland to Spain for sale on the black market.

To carry out the transport of drugs and weapons, they used vehicles registered in Poland that, once in Spain, they left parked for a long period of time, a moment that they took advantage of to make different compartments to hide the merchandise.

The group operated with great secrecy to avoid being investigated, since only the members of the leadership knew the place where the drugs were hidden. In addition, they used different drivers and vehicles for each transport, with an approximate periodicity of one month between them. The “coves” of the vehicles in which they hid the drugs were reused to transport weapons on the return trips to Spain.

In the first phase, the arrival in Spain of an important member of the organization and the displacement of one of its vehicles to France was detected, for which a coordinated operation was carried out with the Polish authorities in which, after intercepting the tourism , 112 kilograms of cannabis hidden in a “cove” were seized.

The second phase of the investigation was carried out after detecting a new movement by car of a member of the organization to the Polish country. After being intercepted in Poland, 100 kilograms of drugs were located in a false bottom of tourism.

Once the network established in Spain, their places of activity, their homes, farms and vehicles had been discovered, the third phase was carried out with entries and searches in the homes and farms of those investigated in the province of Valencia, where they intended to install an indoor macro-plantation for growing cannabis, with a capacity for 1,500 plants.

During the searches, the police seized a drone, which the criminals used to monitor and provide security in the vicinity of the farm from which they operated, and eight vehicles used to transport drugs and weapons.

They also detected an old Polish ambulance parked in a Valencian municipality, in which they found two assault submachine guns with a large amount of ammunition and various chargers, a pistol with a silencing device installed, a semi-automatic pistol, a revolver and numerous ammunition, plus two and a half kilos of speed, two kilos of vacuum-packed marijuana, and a frequency jammer.

The operation is still open and it is not ruled out that more arrests are made.
