One of the most fascinating psychological phenomena, the savant syndrome, also known as the savant syndrome. It is a pathology that mainly affects people with an alteration in their development, who suffer from brain diseases or injuries or who present intellectual functional diversity. Such is the case with people with autism.

However, it should be clarified that not all people are born with this syndrome, on certain occasions it can be acquired. This can happen, for example, after having suffered a brain injury. And, although at first it may seem like a blessing, the reality is that these people, despite these above-average abilities, are not capable of carrying out other simple and daily actions. Therefore, they will need the help and guidance of trained personnel to be able to maintain their autonomy and independence.

The wise man’s syndrome is defined as a series of symptoms of a cognitive and anomalous nature that give rise to this particular pathological state. What it entails is that the people who present it, despite having certain pathologies or disabilities, both motor and mental, possess certain abilities of great brilliance. These can affect various fields, such as art, music, memory or calculation.

However, certain cases of people with this syndrome must carry out a treatment aimed at preventing or treating the brain damage suffered, and that has led them to acquire this condition. They often work in conjunction with specialized health personnel to develop cognitive flexibility, appropriately evolve skills, stimulate cognitive ability, and also undergo behavioral learning.

People who show symptoms of the savant syndrome usually fall into one of the four large groups into which the nature of this psychological phenomenon is divided.
