Agents of the Civil Guard have arrested a 25-year-old young man on Tuesday, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of gender violence in La Rioja. This person had already served a prison sentence for similar acts and at the time of his arrest he was wearing a telematic control bracelet attached to his ankle, since he has in force an order prohibiting him from residing, staying or going to the entire municipal area of the Riojan capital.
It was the residents of the town of Albelda de Iregua who called the Civil Guard warning of a possible violent act after hearing screams and loud blows in a house.
The agents who went to the scene were able to verify how the woman who lived in the house was nervous and crying, with erosions on her face and neck, dazed and unable to express herself.
After being calmed down, the victim stated that she had been assaulted by her partner, who was hiding inside the home and showed a defiant attitude to try to prevent her arrest.
During his identification, the criminal history of this person was verified, who, despite his youth, had been out of prison for ten months after having served a long sentence for mistreating his previous partner.
The detainee has been placed this Wednesday at the disposal of the Court of Violence against Women of Logroño.
